Tales from the Kitchen: Behind the Curtain @ TLily 6/4
At TigerLily we always try to have a good time filled with laughter and fun. The Kitchen @ the Hollywood Studio Bar & Grill acts as our “green room.” We @ TigerLily are always running in and out of the kitchen making sure the show is running just the way it should and more often than none some of the coolest funniest and awesome things are happening on stage and off stage simultaneously! You never know who you are going to run into! After 5 plus years TigerLily has become more than a show it’s a place comedians and comedy fans know they can drop by to see some of their favorite people, have a laugh on or off stage and hey just have a good time!

Comedy Minglings
**One of the fun and great things about TigerLily is seeing all the comedians who come by to just support the show. Walking thru the kitchen you are sure to hear some of the funniest, oddest riffs/jokes that may or may not make it on stage one day. This week the kitchen was crawling with comedians like: Maria Bamford, Lynn Shawcroft, Ron Funches, Dave Huntsberger, Tom Sibley, Danny Solomon, Anthony Devries, Tamra Brown, Catie Lazarus, to name a few.
** We also love that you can see cool moments like Maria Bamford, Greg Proops, Drew Carey and Blaine Capatch all catching up and getting reacquainted in the kitchen. Umm talk about Comedy Gold just kicking it.
** There is a lot of speculation whether or not comedians sit back and watch peoples set or can even sit down and enjoy the show the truth is a lot do. It is quite a sight and sound to hear Bamford’s giggle as she watches Rob O’Reilly or seeing Drew Carey sitting at a table laughing non stop at his pal Greg Proops or at call back from Blaine. Lynn Shawcroft anticipating Nick Turner’s killer set or seeing the comedians at the TL Comedian table being supportive to each other. This community is a friendly one no matter if you are a seasoned pro, just starting out or somewhere in between! Ah we love it!
Caught in the Act

We truly adore Marc Maron and it is a joy whenever he can stop by. Maron started his set by saying he “had nothing prepared” well let’s just say Maron’s “Nothing” is something alright something quite extraordinary. He won the crowd as he reflected on his time as a member of organized sports in his youth!

Greg Proops is a powerhouse he is a sight to be seen and just hilarious! We truly love everytime we get to see him perform. This time he talked about of all things Titanic!

TL friend Comedian Matt Ritter had the crowd laughing and wanting to seriously ask what is up with the publicity department for Foster Care, somehow radio advertisments don’t seem like the best bets for perfect Foster Parents. Ritter also a former Lawyer and part of the Comedians of Law recently made a pretty awesome web series called The Bottom Rung featuring Eddie Pepitone, Rob O’Reilly, Michael McCusker, Jess Garvey you all should check it out

One thing we love being able to do at TL is showcase super funny people from out of state that the normal LA audiences do not get a chance to see. We were super happy to have Ian Karmel stop by providing non stop laughter for the audience. Karmel is from Portland, Oregon where he was the recipient of the 2011 Funniest Person in Portland award and he has been seen on IFC’s Portlandia. Needless to say everybody should check out Karmel you will not be disappointed !

Drew Carey dropped in again! We love being able to have such an awesome comedian we have admired for so long be part of the show! This time he shared stories about his family as well a very interesting history lesson!

TL friend Nick Turner is always a treat to see perform had a killer set as expected. This time he shared the inner secrets of a live taping of the daytime talk show “The Talk”. We were also able to see a secret talent of Turner’s thanks to #1 TLily supporter @gurushabd (twitter moniker) who provided tennis balls we all watched and laughed as he legitimately juggled !

Fellow Lady of Monday and TLily BFF JC Coccoli came and shared with the crowd the pros and cons of owning a Vespa as well as providing the best advice to anyone bothering you just tell them “You are not allowed to talk to me that way!” Always a joy to have on the show she was able to stop by minutes before dashing over to Keep it Clean @ Public House on Vermont always the place for TL after the show.

Blaine Caoatch, Greg Proops, Marc Maron just hanging out! Our love for all three of these dashing fellas continues to grow every time they make us laugh! yeah we just got all mushy up in this blog so what! ;)

We love Chris and David Walsh aka the Walsh Brothers they closed out the show fantastically! It got a little :after dark” there for awhile one brother lost his shirt another lost his pants but through it all they had our comedy loving hearts! Thanks fellas!
