Tales from the Kitchen: Behind the Curtain @ TLily 1/9
It is 2012 and well we brought this back….
At TigerLily we always try to have a good time filled with laughter and fun. The Kitchen @ the Hollywood Studio Bar & Grill acts as our “green room.” We @ TigerLily are always running in and out of the kitchen making sure the show is running just the way it should and more often than none some of the coolest funniest and awesome things are happening on stage and off stage simultaneously! You never know who you are going to run into! After 5 plus years TigerLily has become more than a show it’s a place comedians and comedy fans know they can drop by to see some of their favorite people, have a laugh on or off stage and hey just have a good time!

Comedy Minglings
**First TL of 2012 started with a bang with a fun show filled with some awesome drop ins! A fun sight to see was Patton Oswalt, Marc Maron and Blaine Capatch all catching up in the kitchen and watching from the wings as the hilarious Kumail Nanjiani did his set.
**One thing that is fun about TL is all the support we get from comedians who just drop by to watch and hang. Just some of the super fun people spotted though out the night: Howard Kremer, Pete Holmes (who is on the show Jan 16th), Jon Dore, April Richardson, Will Weldon, Andy Wood, Sean O’Connor, Julian McCullough, Brooks Wheelan among others
**TL fave Matt Kirshen was one of the drop ins of the night. We were ecstatic to here this fantastically funny British comedian has finally made the move to the States permanently! Yay! Make sure to check him out when you can! (He will be back @ TL Jan 23rd)
**We truly adore Ron Lynch, For those that missed him last month as Santa oh man! But we especially love Ron when he drops by to perform his long running bit as “guy who enters thru curtain.” This time he had a mini flashlight and proceeded to “look for a seat.” Ron is like our Comedy Godfather and if you haven’t already check out one of the best shows around Tomorrow Show( every Sat midnight @ Steve Allen Theater) hosted by Ron!
**Justin Ian Daniels killing it on stage and not getting one but three applause breaks during his set was amazing, but what was even more amazing was that he did it all following Patton Oswalt! It only proves how talented and great a comedian Justin is and well we are lucky to have him in residency the whole month of January, so check him out while you can!
Caught in the Act
We were delighted to have a special drop in performance by Patton Oswalt who shared stories of working for MTV and their fort knox security, as well as when super rich celebrities go crazy.
Marc Maron opened his fantastic set telling us that his beloved cat Monkey had gone missing outside this led to hilarious stories about his vacation and revelation at the Hemingway House For anyone wondering, yes Monkey was found and is totally safe.
Blaine Capatch does probably the best Stephen Hawkins as domestic abuser bit we have ever seen he is also one of our favorite hosts, That is why we decided to give him a residency this month. All shows in January will be hosted by Blaine! Aren’t we lucky!
Chris Kattan, star of Saturday Night Live was our other special drop in, primarily known for improv and sketches Kattan is newly dipping his toes into the stand up pool, gotta say the audience really enjoyed him, can’t wait to see more of him on the scene!
Those of you familiar with Andy Ritchie should be more than happy to hear he has moved back to LA! Andy is one of those people that can just make you guffaw til you have tears in your eyes, if you don’t know Andy you must, so glad to have him back!
It’s hard not to love Rory Scovel and if you don’t what is wrong with you? Rory decided to take to the grand piano giving the audience a new appreciation for the opening notes to Coldplay’s Clocks.
Danny Solomon who recently moved to LA from NY had a fun filled set that resulted in an applause break, as well told us about what is intended to be the greatest work of fiction ever, Hint : it involves chipmunks!
Eliza Skinner is funny period. During her crowd pleasing set she let everyone in on the secret reason all girls call themselves “nerds”. Eliza also runs a great show with another grand comedian DC Person called MagicBag ever Saturday @ the Underground Annex on Wilton Pl. Check it out!
TL favorites Howard Kremer, Pete Holmes and Karl Hess “James Dean” it up for the camera well hanging out in “the kitchen”
TL friend and newly mustached Barry Rothbart had a killer set that oddly enough had everybody rethinking saffron. Those in the know may have heard MTV announced Punk’d will be coming back this spring. One reason to tune in is for the chance to see Rothbart unleash some prank magic the other of course being the chance to see Bieber.
Overall a fun start to 2012 Thanks to everybody! We’ll see ya Monday!
